Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a passionate and creative chef or baker. You need to have skills in a variety of cooking techniques and understanding of how to prepare different types of dishes. If you've just completed a professional cookery course, or something similar this would be perfect for you. Experience working with a wood fired oven would be an advantage, but not essential. You need to be personable, presentable and tidy as our kitchen/oven is very much front of house. Being calm and friendly also just makes for a happier environment!
You will be responsible for the preparation of a wide variety dishes, breads, along with all other toppings/fillings for the products we sell. Product development will also be key to your role, creating new, innovative and seasonal products throughout the year. Supplier appointments and ingredient quality standards will be within your remit in order to maintain the high standards we have set. Working collaboratively and positively with them is as important as the commercial arrangements that are in place. you'll be working along side our baker and a further two seasonal kitchen staff in your team for the summer. You report directly to the Stoned Founder, Tom, and will join the Management Team to contribute to the overall running of the business, sometimes presenting to and meeting with our Investment Board. You will be working five days a week in low season, and six in high, with good hours allowing time in the afternoons to hit up the beach!

Stoned is a wood fired food company dedicated to producing the highest quality food possible, in a visual, engaging way, whilst having a load of fun. Over the last 3 years we’ve built our reputation operating pop-up sites and this is our first permanent premises of what we plan to be many - it’s a very exciting time to get involved. The venue is a take-out or eat-in and will offer pastries and breads throughout the morning, ‘sandwiches’ (not actual sandwiches) at lunchtime and pizzas in the evening. We’re based on the coast in North Devon so this could also be an exciting move for you if you are looking for a lifestyle change.
